IHS51 is all about people!

We are enhancing the cohesion of the global horn community with some mind-blowing optional activities:

Tickets are subject to availability. We advize you to buy your tickets from the Service Desk as early in the week as you can.

Meet up with the international horn playing community and enjoy Belgian craft beer, refreshments and snacks at the heart of the symposium

-Canal Boat Tour & Water Music flashmob*:

Invade the Ghent canals on Wednesday 3 July, with a flashmob playing a massed horn ensemble version of Handel’s Water Music on the famous Graslei Canal…and of course explore Ghent at it’s most beautiful side….

***tickets: “Playing” boats: 12€ / “relax&listen” boats: 10€ – buy at service desk before 2 July 19h***

-Markus Bonna Horn Run:

A 4 km morning run featuring touristic highlights. Run with your horn case on your back and win a Marcus Bonna case or mute!

***free for all participants -you get a ticket for the raffle at the finish. Mind: this is not a competition, you can run at your own pace!***

-Brewery Visit*:

Explore Belgian Beer Culture with an organised visit to the Ghent city brewery, at 5 minutes walk from the symposium venue!

In case of sell-out, a second tour will be organized on Thursday

-Brussels Musical Instrument Visit*

a visit to one of the most remarkable horn collections in the world -as a special you get to see all of the horns in the warehouse of the museum (not in exhibition!)
